Maryland Head Football Coach Ralph Friedgen will remain at Maryland for his tenth season. There was speculation he would be bought out of the last two years of his contract following a 2-10 season.
This is a young team and I am confident they will be better next season.

Boston College 19, Maryland 17
Terps fought hard but the result was another loss. This time 19-17 to Boston College. BC's Montel Harris ran for 142 yards and QB Dave Shinskie threw for 227 yards in the Eagles victory. Maryland Quarterbacks Chris Turner and Jamarr Robinson, both playing hurt, threw for 216 yards. Turner was 11 for 17, 101 yards while Robinson was 9 for 15, 115 yards and a TD.
BC's defense sacked Turner and Robinson twice each and Kicker Steve Aponavicius kicked four field goals. Boston College finished the regular season 8-4 and 5-3 in the ACC.
The Terps finished 2-10 and 1-7 in ACC play. Now Head Coach Ralph Friedgen awaits his fate for next season.
Pictures taken from Section 19, then I moved over to Section 5 for the last quarter. As usual, click on a picture for a larger version. Next season I plan to use a monopod to steady my shot as I always seemed to move a little when the play goes on, resulting in a blur. Also I need to work on my techniques. It's tough sometimes when you think a play is going to go to one player, so you focus on him from your seat and the play is totally opposite what you think and you end up missing the shot. Guess that's why the Post and Times employ two and three photographers there so nothing is missed.
I hope this was a helpful blog to get the latest Terps news and it sure was fun shooting pictures despite the tough season. I learned a lot and can't wait to do it again next year.

Maryland-Boston College Pregame
I got to the final home game a couple hours early and was able to get real close to the Terps pregame warm ups. I decided to shoot a lot of pictures so those can experience what goes on during pregame warm ups. I was able to get a wide variety of players, some who's career ended today and others you will see in the future. Click here for the numerical roster.
Following this team like I do, I know these kids work extremely hard, both on the field and off. Sure it's been a rough year but they are, and always will be my favorite college football team. I'm confident Coach Friedgen can turn this around next season. I hope he gets the chance.
As usual, if you wish to see a larger picture just click it. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did putting them together. Game pics in another post with the recaps of the game.
Warm ups start

Freshman Kicker Nick Ferrara has been handling the Punting duties
as regular Punter Travis Baltz broke his finger in the Virginia Tech game.

Freshman Kicker Mike Barbour

Senior Kicker David May

WR Torrey Smith

QB Chris Turner. Note the left knee brace. He wanted to play in
his last game today.

Terp Unity

FB Cory Jackson. A clutch Terp and one of my all time favorites.
Thanks Cory and thank you seniors!

FB's Cory Jackson and Taylor Watson work on a drill. What I like
about this picture is Jackson, the senior working with Watson, a sophomore

Terps Defense. #14 is DB Nolan Carroll and #12 is DB Kenny Tate

Post of the Day at Inside Maryland Sports
As a die hard Terps fan I scan a lot of message board sites and saw this post from Terps06 called A thought about tomorrow...
Despite all the swirling rumors about RF's (Head Coach Ralph Friedgen) future and various opinions expressed by Terp fans, I think the coaching staff and players will be focused on trying to close out a very disappointing season on a winning note. Despite the losses and the intense criticism, they haven’t quit.
I hope Terp fans can put aside for one day what will happen after Saturday and give this coaching staff and team (especially the seniors) some love and our full support.
It's not the time to be divisive and negative - there will be plenty of time after the season to express feelings, theories, opinions, and suggestions about what has transpired and what we should do in the future.
It’s time for us to show some class. It’s time for us to be a supportive fan base instead of being constantly critical and divisive.
Its time for us to show some respect and appreciation for our own. No one associated with the football program wanted to lose, make mistakes, or be where we are now. The "plan" failed for a variety of reasons and despite how much it hurts, no one deserves some of the overboard comments that have been expressed here and elsewhere.
I know all of us are frustrated and angry with many aspects of the football program and we want things to get better sooner than later, but maybe - for at least one day - we can put it all aside and try and help this team end the season on a good note.
GO TERPS!!
Amen!
